Created in the Ming dynasty, the Tang was supposedly a farming tool redesigned for war, probably a cross between a rake and a pitchfork.
It utilizes similar techniques to the Trident. Spinning, stabbing and hooking.
The Wings of the Tang vary in shape depending on the region or the style.
Some versions employ very wavy designs, such as the "Dragon's Beard Tang" (龍鬚鎲).
there is even a multi-sectioned Tang, called the "4-Section Tang" (四節鎲)

The type most commonly seen today is the "Toothed Crescent-Winged Tang" (齒翼月牙鎲)
